Brann take Korcsmár on loan

The 21-year old from Újpest FC participated in Brann's training camp this winter, and Brann has since then been considered a good signing for Brann. Investors have helped Brann put together a loan-agreement through the 2010-season, with an option to extend the contract for a longer period if both Brann and the player wishes.

This transfer is perfect timing for Brann, since the transfer window opens August 1st, and veteran defender Olafur Örn Bjarnason leaves Brann for his new coaching job in Iceland at that date.

The loan agreement runs until November 30. Korcsmár is a U21-national for Hungary and usually has the captain role. Brann's head coach Rune Skarsfjord expects him to be a good signing.

- When Olli leaves us, we only have Yaw Amankwah and Christian Kalvenes as central defenders in our squad. This means a lot in resepcts to the job we need to do when we prepare a 2011-squad, says Skarsfjord and more than signals that the loan-agreement can become a permanent transfer.

- Zsolt is a young, but experienced and proven central defender. He played the bronze final in the World Cup for U20s and has captained both the U-20 and U-21 national teams for Hungary.

Zsolt Korcsmár has played 96 matches and scored twelve goals for Újpest FC despite his young age. Újpest FC came in at number four in the hungarian league in the  2009/10-season. Zsolt is the first hungarian player to ever sign for Brann.
